First Congregational Church

       First Congregational Church is proud to share worship and educational space with Congregation Sukkat Shalom, led by Rabbi Samuel Gordon and Cantor Jill Abramson. This partnership in faith began in 1997, and was recognized  by  the  Chicago organization Inspired Partnerships in May 2000, when our congregations received the "Best Use of Shared Space" award.  Congregation Sukkat Shalom worships in the sanctuary on Friday (Shabbat) evenings & Saturday (Shabbat) mornings.  In the chancel area of the sanctuary, you can see the Ark for the Torah, which was commissioned by Congregation Sukkat Shalom.  Members and friends of First Congregational Church are welcome to join Sukkat Shalom for worship.  In addition, our congregations plan several joint activities and worship services throughout the year.  Watch our website, the Sunday bulletins, and monthly newsletter for more information about other events.  We hope that these events will be a blessing to you and your family.
